The aim of the Civic and National Education Project “MUSEUM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE THAT TOUCHES THE SOULS” was to correct, complement and to adapt the educational programs of the Museum. In practice, these programs are designed to help the art school teachers to present their students with the art of Janina Monkute-Marks. The teachers and students of Kedainiai Sviesioji Gymnasium, Kedainiai “Atzalynas” Secondary School and Academy High School of Fine Arts were involved in this project. The project included the cognitive - cultural tour around Panevezys Art Glass Studio and Panevezys Art Gallery. The lectures on contemporary art were also delivered. Janina Monkute-Marks creative works were widely investigated: the classes on pop art, painting, textile and graphics were introduced. The exhibition of the works created by the project participants was organized at Janina Monkute-Marks Museum-Gallery on June 19-22.
The Museum already has four educational programs: “Pop Art Period in the Works of Janina Monkute-Marks”, ”Folk Art Symbolism in the Paintings of Janina Monkute-Marks", "Tapestries and Rugs of Janina Monkute-Marks” and “Graphics of Janina Monkute-Marks - Linoleum Cuts". As a result of this not only you will learn a lot about the famous artist and museum founder Janina Monkute-Marks, and her creative works, but will also be able to feel the artists yourself – you will be provided with the opportunity to draw, paint, cut, stick, carve and weave. If you want to order the selected programs, please call the following telephone number in advance: (+370 347) 57398.

The project was supported by the Civic and National Education Foundation and Ministry of Education and Science.
